Abstract

Waheed Ahmed is such a name of the literary world that for his profound social conscious and artistic finesse holds a niche in poetic and literary circles. He harmonized his deep and profound observation, analytic conscious, and perspective with Modernism. Waheed Ahmed has endowed his readers with four poetry collections “Shaffafiyan” , “Hum Aag Churaatay Hain” , “Nazm Naama” and “Pariyaan Utarti Hain” along with two novels “Zino” and “Mundri Wala”. In addition to his personal vows, being a sensitive member of society Waheed Ahmed is found writing on social realities and issues. His greatest subject matter is the Capitalist system, which is a problem of us all. His poems are considered a classic among contemporary poetics for their innate and skilled stylistics that present the reader with a distinct impression. Though he selected Free Verse as his poetic form, he entitled such artistic and stylistic strength to it that despite suffocating and harsh themes its delicate poetic appeal is unharmed. This has been made possible for his apt choice of words, diction, and phrases and for an excellent exploit of Rhetoric and Prosody.
